I got some photos of the city that I tried to send earlier, but I guess the images were too big to include in the email. Here's a link instead:https://photos.app.goo.gl/cfrsLjzt7pk8dF7v6
I had a chance to walk around 5th avenue this week, and I was happy to see that, although things aren't quite back to normal, they're really looking up. This area is actually one of my favorite places to stroll in the city.
Sak's Fifth Avenue, is open again, and I was tempted to walk in, but I was a little low on time. I also spotted a long line at the 5th Avenue Apple store, and the famed Bergdorf Goodman window displays are back. Even Tiffany's is looking as glamorous as ever, although I think their breakfast service is still closed.
I'm glad to see people are concerned about Manhattan, because it's a wonderful place. I think it's going to be alright. No pictures, but I've been downtown around the Village and the LES side a few times, and the streets are packed with outdoor diners. In some ways, the city is more vibrant than it ever was.

This looks like it was taken during the early phases of the shelter-in-place order. These businesses were required to close, and they boarded their windows because it was not possible to keep staff around to protect them. As far as I'm aware, there wasn't a lot of property damage. There was no looting, because these stores don't leave their inventory in store when the store is not staffed.
We are in Phase 3 now, and most of these stores are open again, just with lower maximum occupancy. I'll plan to get some pictures the next time I'm walking along 5th.

Yeah. I have a friend who is in security at Tiffany & Co. This is what he walks into when he's in midtown (he's usually down by flat iron though).
My friends/family that are NYPD have been saying this for months.

Wanna see what Manhattan looks like today? You won't see this on the news... All from "peaceful protests", yeah right.
