This looks like it was taken during the early phases of the
shelter-in-place order. These businesses were required to close, and they
boarded their windows because it was not possible to keep staff around to
protect them. As far as I'm aware, there wasn't a lot of property damage.
There was no looting, because these stores don't leave their inventory in
store when the store is not staffed.
We are in Phase 3 now, and most of these stores are open again, just with
lower maximum occupancy. I'll plan to get some pictures the next time I'm
walking along 5th.
