Tuesday SI-SIG meets at 8:00pm at the Panera Bread on Route 110
Wednesday Island Labs meets at 8:00pm in Mineola
At this wednesday's meeting, we'll try to make contact w/ LIMARC and see how many of us we can get on the air.
(Even people without HAM radio licenses can talk on the air if someone is acting as their "control operator")
At the last Meeting: Ariella, Ephram and Rich were looking at a BaoFeng HAM radio and learning how to program it with "chirp" software.
James was testing the software that converts step and direction signals to DC servo motor outputs, running it on an arduino and using it to spin a 3D printed "thing" w/ a tiny DC motor.
Ephram passed his HAM radio exam at HRU (after only one day of studying?) and showed off his custom built temperature monitor, used for barbeque cooking competitions.
Jim recently got an ardupilot/arducopter flight controller board , was working w/ "cloud-ide" for web-based arduino development and has been working on 3D printed quad-copter motor mounts.
Ariella found an interest in DX'ing (at HRU) and visited a Nassau County ARES meeting so maybe she'll get involved in disaster communications too.
Jesse has people trying to buy clover leaf antennas from him.
And, on tech-net (sunday) he made his first on-air contact and got a little information on that type of antenna.
Since James is interested in building a very small extruder:
Here are a few links on that subject.

And here are a few Raspberry Pi Home Automation links.
